get ready for your mind to be blown

"focus is the directed divorce of mental concentration from physical sensation" - me.  yes, the first quote that i consider awesome enough to be attributed to me.

so tonight was a great  tempo run.  i was good.  it was a little like running back in minot.  once i hit the last 3 miles, it was a rails-trails deal, and it was FAST.  and i knew it.  it was at the end, during the cooldown, that i thought up that thought at the beginning.  my mind was controlling my body like a puppet; i was getting all manner of cramps and stiches and everything, but i was just like… whatever.  i rocked.  my breathing was controlled the entire time as well, never went into interval breathing.  i’m gonna swim tomorrow, then do a short tempo run on saturday, then long run on sunday.

no pain tonight, in my small nikes.  i think my body was made to run fast.

Really nice times! Kind of cool when it all comes together and it seems effortless. To run beautifully as Pre would say.
